The exhibition for the Mekong-Lan-Mekong region was first held in Cambodia, with the expectation of improving regional and global trade.
The 2017 Mekong-Mekong Economic Cooperation and Technology Exhibition will feature agricultural technology and construction materials that respond to market demand.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on July 13, ZHENG WEI, vice chairman of the Council for International Trade Promotion, China, said that this first exhibition in Cambodia will serve the interests of Mekong countries such as Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam, especially for the development of the ecosystem in agriculture, infrastructure.
Chuan Darara, secretary of state at the Ministry of Commerce, said that China's latest import of advanced accessories would help boost the trade volume between Cambodia and China. "The 2017 Mekong-Kaladan Expressway for Economic Cooperation and Technology for 2014 is a great boost to the good cooperation of the two countries, both economic, cultural and political."
He welcomes foreign investors, especially Chinese ones, who want to invest in Cambodia.
In 2013, bilateral trade between China and Cambodia reached nearly $ 5 billion, with Cambodia exporting around $ 830 million.
